You can update a renter’s contact information, property assignment, lease dates, and settings from PayRent. What you can edit depends on whether the renter has accepted their invitation yet.
You must be signed in as a landlord.
The renter must already appear on your Renters list (or on a property’s renter list).
Sign in to PayRent as a landlord.
Go to Renters (or open the renter from Properties).
Find the renter you want to update.
Open the renter’s menu (⋯) and select Edit Renter Details.
Update the fields you need (see What you can edit).
Select SAVE.
You’ll see a success message when the update is complete, and the panel closes.
These stay available whether or not the renter has accepted their invite:
Property Address — move the renter to a vacant unit you own
Lease Start and Lease End
Remove renter on lease end date
Require Renters Insurance
ACH Balance Precheck (if your plan includes it)
Until the renter accepts their invitation, you can edit:
First Name
Last Name
Renter Email Address
Renter Mobile Phone
After the renter accepts the invite and activates their account, those contact fields become read-only for landlords. The renter updates their own name, email, and phone in their PayRent account (tenant Settings).
On the Renters list, an Active badge means the renter has accepted; Not Active means they have not yet.
Once a renter accepts their invitation, they own their profile contact information. That prevents accidental changes to the email or phone they use to sign in and receive payment reminders.
If a pending (not yet accepted) invite has the wrong name or email:
Open Edit Renter Details.
Correct First Name, Last Name, Email, and/or Mobile Phone.
Save.
Resend the invitation if needed so they receive the updated invite.
If the renter is already active and needs a name or email change, ask them to update it in their tenant account, or contact PayRent support for help with account access issues.
Lease end must be at least three days after lease start.
Moving a renter to another property only works if that unit is vacant.
For ACH Balance Precheck setup, see For ACH Balance Precheck setup, see How to Add ACH Balance Check to a Renter’s Settings.
Invite a new renter from Renters or Properties using the invitation panel.
Remove a pending invite from the renter menu when they have not accepted yet.
