Post the repair cost, or part of it, to the resident's billing account. The charge doesn't appear on the resident's maintenance request.
Before you start
Sign in as a landlord.
The request has to be saved first. Post charge doesn't appear on a new request until you save it.
The unit needs exactly one active billing account. If it has none, or more than one, the charge won't post, and this form doesn't let you pick an account.
Each request can be charged once. After a charge posts, the form shows Charge already posted.
Steps
Go to Maintenance.
Open the request with the pencil (View/Edit).
Under Repair cost, enter the full repair amount.
If there's an invoice total and it doesn't match the repair cost, you can select Use the invoice total to copy it over.
Under Tenant charge, choose Full, Partial, or None.
For Partial, enter the resident's share. It has to be more than zero and less than the repair cost. Full fills in the repair cost and locks the field. None disables it.
Select Post charge.
Post charge stays disabled while None is selected, so choosing None never posts anything.
The full or partial amount is charged to the resident's billing account, and the request is marked as the resident's responsibility.
Good to know
You can't post a second charge on the same request.
Geni can't post this charge for you. Selecting the button is your confirmation.
The resident's maintenance screen doesn't show the repair cost, the charge, or the fault flag.
